2. If possible, SAYSO's organization-wide cancellations will be noted on the Announcements page of this website. In some cases, SAYSO may be able to send out email announcements to all team families, but this does not occur more than occasionally.

3. Coaches will immediately terminate outdoor practices and games when thunder or lightning are observed, even if SAYSO has not cancelled those events on an organization-wide basis. (Coaches may also cancel or modify practices and/or games if, upon arriving, it is determined that a field cannot support soccer activities without sustaining damage.)

4. Teams, through the actions of their team officials (coaches and managers), shall determine whether or not they will practice in other situations. Even when grass fields are closed, coaches may decide to hold practices indoors or on paved surfaces. Team officials may, but generally do not, inform the SAYSO office of their intent to move a practice to an alternate location. Therefore, it is not possible for SAYSO to notify team families about any specific team's schedule changes.

5. SAYSO maintains a list of rainout telephone numbers for each city. Parents (and team officials) are invited to call the appropriate rainout number during and after periods of rain.  City closures must always be observed. However, cities are not consistent in closing their fields.

6. Each team will establish its own method (e.g., phone trees, web schedules, emails, eVites, etc.) of proactively announcing changes to schedules for team events.

7. It is expected that the Team Manager will be the point of contact for each team. Parents should contact the Team Manager to determine if there have been any changes to the team's practice and/or game schedule. Parents should not contact the SAYSO office to determine if team events have been cancelled.

8. SAYSO's announcements webpage generally will not reflect changes to individual team events. A team's Manager should be contacted to determine if any changes have been made to practice and/or game schedules.
