Q: Do I have to take out my new earrings?
A: Probably, yes. Referees want you to have a safe game. And, since some jewelry can cause injury (primarily to you), referees may require you to take off your watch, necklace, and earrings. Religious and medical alert items may be worn as long as they are covered or securely fastened in place by tape. In rare cases, some referees may permit you to cover your newly-pierced ears with tape. But, they shouldn't.This rule will be enforced all through your youth soccer career, through high school.
