Casts, Knee Braces,
Ankle Braces, and Splints
CYSA-N rules are specific in these issues in these issues. CYSA-N disallows them all.
CYSA-N General Procedure 3:08:01 reads: "Players wearing orthopedic casts, air-splints or metal splints shall not be eligible to participate in any game." This is interpreted in PIM (Policy Interpretation Memorandum) 00-2, as follows: "Players wearing orthopedic casts, braces (metal, carbon fiber, hard plastic, and like devices), or splints (air or metal) shall not be eligible to participate in any game, practice, tryout or training session."
While lace-up cloth ankle braces appear to parenthetically sneak by, plastic ankle braces are clearly forbidden in CYSA games.
These rules make no mention of padding, wrapping, sleeves, or covering.
These rules make no mention of what part of the body is affected.
These rules make no exceptions.
