 Soccer Academy 
- A recreational-to-competitive bridge program for U7 children
- Competitive training, competitive team play, professional coaches - in an age-appropriate recreational environment
- For boys and girls just too old for pure recreational soccer, but still one year too young for competitive team play

Quick Look
* Open registration: No tryouts. Everybody is accepted.
* Ages: 7-8 years old
* Dates: 10 consecutive weeks of training, starting September 5, 2008 (players joining in midseason pay prorated fees)

* Location: Fridays: Foster City Elementary School, Foster City [Where is this?] Easy entrance and exit from 101. Sundays: Hillsdale High School, all-weather rear turf field, 3115 Del Monte Street, San Mateo  
* Times: Fridays, 6:00 pm-7:30 pm; Sundays, 2:45 pm-3:45 pm
* Each week: One 90-minute realistic training session on Friday; one competitive game experience on Sunday
* Each game: Everyone plays; 40-minute games (20-minute halves); 6v6; with goalkeepers
* Coaches: Professional, credentialed, experienced coaches
* Training environment: Fun, exciting, high-energy training environment
* Playing environment: The same learn-by-doing, "Let the game be the teacher" environment that players enjoy throughout the world
* Curriculum: Progressive skill and strategy lessons each week
* Teams: Boys and girls, coed; gender-specific teams whenever possible

Who is a Super-7 player?
Players eligible for this program are 7 and 8 years old.
Most players younger than Super-7 age should consider the Crickets (ages 5-7) and Grasshoppies (ages 3-5) Academies.
Some exceptions may be made for slightly younger players in exceptional cases. If you think that your child is one of those exceptional cases, do this: (1) Register in the Super-7 Academy. (2) Complete the Play-Up Request form (also accessible from the SAYSO Forms page).

If you want information on our summer camps, competitive teams, or our indoor soccer league, please send us an email with your email address, the gender and date of birth of your child, and the programs you are interested in.

The Super-7 Academy is a continuation of the very popular Crickets Soccer Academy. Super-7 is perfect for competitive players slightly too young for spring competitive (e.g., US Club, CYSA, 'CY', etc.) leagues but who want to compete on weekend teams against similar players developing at the higher skill levels. Super-7 prepares players for easy transitions onto U8 SAYSO Gryphons teams that play in CYSA and US Club Soccer leagues. Players from all mid-peninsula cities are welcome to participate without exclusion. Limited to 60 players. Established, fixed curriculum covering skill, strategy, and practice games. Multiple professional, credentialed SAYSO coaches provide the instruction. Approximate 1:15 coach:player ratio. Age-appropriate teaching methods, goals, and balls. All equipment is provided. Location: Foster City (Fridays) and San Mateo (Sundays). Dates: For fall 2008, there will be one series of 10 classes starting September 5, 2008. Cost: (prorated for midseason registrations) $250, includes professional coach, Super-7 uniform (shorts, jersey, and socks), a SAYSO Gryphons ball, and membership/registration in US Club Soccer for insurance. Players from the Super-7 Academy may be invited to optional weekend tournaments against teams from other cities at no charge.

Meet Your Program Director
Coach Nick Dye

Nick Dye is an accomplished coach in several regards. He has a prestigious UEFA B license as well as a wealth of soccer accomplishments beyond his years. Nick has already worked as a professional coach for over 5 years. 3 of those years were with a former English premier league academy where he developed players to be hired professionally in clubs around the world. Nick has also previously worked in New Jersey as an manager of a very successful soccer academy. As a former student of sports science, Nick brings a treasure trove of new coaching techniques and ideas from around the world. Most importantly, the children love his motivating enthusiasm, and everyone loves his accent.
