Ages 4, 5, 6, 7, and young 8. Since 2004, this academy has been meeting once a week for
four or six 90-minute classes on Sunday afternoons
starting each March, May, June, and September, and November.
Very popular with young players for whom there are no
competitive leagues yet.
Prepares players for easy transitions onto U8
SAYSO Gryphons
(e.g., US Club, CYSA, 'CY', etc.) teams. Players from mid-peninsula cities, primarily Hillsborough, San Mateo, Foster City,
Redwood Shores, Belmont, San Carlos, and Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park,
Palo Alto, and Los Altos, although players from
all cities are welcome to participate without exclusion. Limited to
100
boys and girls
each session. Established, fixed curriculum covering skill, strategy, and
practice games as well as team bonding and player appreciation. Multiple credentialedSAYSO coaches (not parents) and youth role models on-field. Approximate 1:6 coach:player ratio. Age-appropriate teaching methods, goals, and balls. All equipment is provided. Location: Hillsdale High School, all-weather, turf field, 3115 Del Monte Street, San Mateo Dates: Fall 2008, there will be three series of 6 classes starting August 17, 2008, September 7, 2008, and October 5, 2008. (No meeting on August 31, Labor Day Weekend.) Cost: $105, residents of all cities; No nonresident fee. $25 discount for siblings (i.e., two Crickets registered at the same time.) Uniforms: Participants may obtain the academy uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) at the first meeting. A $25 uniform fee will be collected at that time. Scholarships: Due to the already low-cost of this program, there is no Crickets scholarship fund. Registration: Register online below.
